The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) was formed in 1999 by Greg Bownds and Robert Jones to provide quality live pro-wrestling events to the Australian public.
The AWF sets the standard in Australian wrestling by presenting visually spectacular, high quality professional wrestling events that utilise the premier wrestling talent from Australia and abroad.
The AWF product consists of action packed, visually spectacular professional wrestling events that utilise wrestling talent from Australia and abroad. AWF events feature matches, interviews and storylines incorporating all of the hype that is pro-wrestling today.
AWF live events are frequently promoted out of Club, Sporting and Community venues, as well as part of outdoor concerts, festivals and presentations. All events are conducted under the guidelines set out by the Department of Sport and Recreation to ensure the safety and cover needed for performers, fans and venues.
Wrestlers range from serious performers to zany colourful characters, and they come in all shapes and sizes. One thing remains common in all of our athletes and that is their enthusiasm, and the lengths they will go to captivate, entertain and enthrall audiences.
All AWF wrestling talent is professionally trained, and their performers keep their skills refreshed by working out regularly at Australia 's premier pro-wrestling training facility the AWF School of Pro-Wrestling. The school has trained over 50 students, and is the school of choice in Australia for any aspiring wrestler.
The school itself accommodates a twenty foot square ring and exercise area. Within these confides is where students learn the techniques required to become competent and accomplished pro-wrestlers. The training consists of supervised sessions of pro-wrestling related exercise, theory and learning how to wrestle. The head teacher of the AWF School is “TNT”, real name Greg Bownds. Greg oversees the training schedule and organises the class structure.
Greg currently wrestles professionally as TNT, and has also wrestled as Aussie Ozbone internationally, and is one of the most talented wrestlers on the circuit today. He has 13 years of ring experience and has traveled to the USA, Japan and Mexico to hone his craft.
