AWF "BREAK OUT" TOUR

Saturday September 5, AWF Dojo, Minto NSW

Review and photos courtesy Alex Kelly.

AWF "Rise Up" Minto was an amazing event with sad, happy and funny moments. It was a 7 bout event and will be remembered by everyone that was there. The evening started out with Tnt coming to the ring and announcing the graduates of 2009. The first person to come to the ring was Dane Eison or as he is preferred to be called Rigga Mortis. The second was Grant Lindstrom. These athletes are great performers. TNT gave each a second to share their thoughts. Grant Lindstrom’s speech was very brief but Mortis’ wasn’t he said ‘I will clear all the blasphemy from your souls’ and went on with his so called “preachy” speech. The competitors agreed to fight each other later in the night.

Adam Hoffman vs Traffic
From the start it was Adam had the upper hand. He was putting traffic in submissions, slamming him in suplexes, beating him all around the ring. But Traffic wouldn’t give up. Hoffman went to dive missed and Traffic did his big splash. Hoffman would still not give in and kick out at two. Hoffman and Traffic had an all out brawl from there. They both were trying to beat up their opponent for the three count. Once again it was Hoffman who was ahead. After that he would then hit a 619 on Traffic and go for the top rope. Traffic doing anything to win pulls the ropes Hoffman falls off the top rope. Now Traffic with the upper-hand goes for the pinfall. Hoffman reverses the pin then Traffic reverses again this time Traffic pulling the tights. Traffic finally getting the three count by a cheat. However it was a great contest.
Winner: Traffic

Spaceboy "Open Challenge"
The person to accept his challenge was a young trainer at the dojo. The start of the match was really athletic. Both competitors were high flyers. Spaceboy was taking it to the young rookie, but it seemed whatever he did the rookie wasn’t giving up. Being trained in the dojo you are taught to never give up and the rookie did a good job. Spaceboy tried everything. Move after move the rookie was still on his feet. The rookie came back with a ferocious drop kick downing Dacey. Dacey just kicked out to make it a two count. Spaceboy trying to win using his last resort The Spaceboy Splash. He came crashing down landing on the rookie for the three count. After the match Dacey applauded the young rookie. Dacey would then announce he was going for his first commonwealth title shot the following week at Parramatta PCYC against Powerhouse Theo.
Winner: Spaceboy

The third match was an unscheduled one. When Spaceboy was leaving the ring Toxin had come out and said “You’re also versing me” Spaceboy was shocked but accepted. Toxin was controlling the first parts of the match. He was slapping Spaceboy around until Spaceboy punched back. In the end, Spaceboy pulled through and slammed Toxin to the ground. After the match, Massive Q came and pounded Spaceboy. Massive Q did his big splash on Spaceboy leaving Spaceboy in a bad condition for his match at PCYC next Saturday. The bashing left the crowd booing and Harley and the Freakshow laughing. When Spaceboy got up he was given several cheers from the crowd.

Mint Condition Mick Moretti vs Rockafella
Both men would go to extreme lengths to win the Australasian title and they proved it in their match. The match started off with Rockafella grounding Mint condition. He was trying his best pounding Mint condition on the mat but Moretti just wouldn’t give up. Half way through the match he fought back into the fight blocking Rockefella’s every move. Rockafella then chucked Mick Moretti out the ring furious with not getting a three count. It looked like Mick Moretti was about to be counted out . Then when the referee was up to an 8 count, Moretti climbed up the balcony jumped off somersaulting on to Rockafella and the referee! When the referee was conscious he saw Moretti’s hand over Rockafella and counted the pinfall. This match was a thriller and certainly had its moments. Especially with that career risking dive.
Winner: Mick Moretti

Iron Jay vs Rob "The Scientist" Best
The match started out with both man fighting in a Strength contest, the Ultimate Battle between Science and Fish. It was very athletic. They got into a series of pinfalls. But in the end Fish won. Rob then raised Iron Jay’s hand.
Winner: Iron Jay

Rookies Match: Grant Lindstrom vs Rigor Mortis
It started off with Rigor Mortis grounding Grant. He kept pounding, bashing and pulverizing Lindstrom. But Lindstrom knew not to quit because this match was important to him. It was his graduation fight. His fight to prove to the crowd he is a great wrestler. Grant Lindstrom then dropkicked Rigor Mortis in the mouth to try and finally shut him up. Rigor Mortis did his slam. But Lindstrom kicked out. Lindstrom came back and did a suplex. But in the end Rigor Mortis did a clothesline to down Lindstrom and pin him for the victory. Lindstrom was pretty angry afterwards but got chanted by the crowd.
Winner: Rigor Mortis

Factions Elimination Match
The Detonation Crew’s team had Max Comic, Billy Flyswat and Powerhouse Theo and the Freakshow was represented by Zander Bathory, Massive Q and Toxin. The match started off really exciting with Massive Q and Max Comic. Max Comic was trying to down Q but it was very hard. It took him about 8 clotheslines and a punch in the nose. Max Comic was so close to eliminating Q but Zander got in the way. Billy Flyswat was then tagged in. Billy had a good grapple with Zander. Then Zander tagged in Q so Billy tagged in Comic , leaving Comic to be eliminated from a big splash. Comic then left the arena. Q then tagged in Toxin and Theo was automatically tagged in after Comic was eliminated. Theo took it to Toxin. After that Toxin was so hurt he tagged in Zander. Zander tried his best but failed Theo was to strong. Zander got angry and tagged in Toxin. Then Theo tagged in Billy. Billy and Toxin fought for a little while until Billy threw Toxin out of the ring and Toxin landed on the back of his head on the wood. Harley went to see if he was ok but he didn’t respond. The whole AWF staff and wrestlers went to see if toxin was hurt he was injured badly. So TNT called a no contest for the safety of Toxin. This is a lesson to everyone that loves wrestling this is true don’t try this at home or anywhere else you could get seriously hurt like Toxin did. They later had to call an ambulance. Toxin is OK and should not miss too many events.
Result: No Contest
