The show started with the Detonation Crew coming to the ring. TNT reported that he had dislocated his shoulder overseas and couldn’t wrestle. He also said he had been stripped of the AWA Championship and would do everything he can to get it back. Max Comic was also officially inducted into the Detonation Crew. Well done to Max, he has gone a long way since I first saw him.
Young Lions Championship Contenders 5 Way
Ben Coles vs Rob “The Scientist” Best vs Spaceboy Dacey vs “Mint Condition” Mick Moretti vs Nick Ferno:
Solid match, both Mick Moretti and Ben Coles were impressive with great performances. Spaceboy was obviously the fan favourite, however Ben Coles scored the win. Can he now go on and win the Young Lions Championship?
Winner: Ben Coles
Womens Match:
Shazza has now been fully brainwashed by the Freakshow. Alison came to the ring and gave Shazza the orders. Bo (sporting a new hairdo) scored the pin. Shazza was quite believable as a heel.
Winner: “Bombshell” Bo
Factions 6 Man Match:
Shazza’s loss brought Zander, Toxin and Massive Q to the ring. Australian Made (Bluey Bonza, Scotty Club and Waxhead) came to the ring to attempt a rescue only to have Shazza spit blood into Bonza’s face which ultimately lost him the match.
Winner: Zander Bathory, Toxin & Massive Q
Headliners Showdown:
Il Cognito then came to the ring and stirred up the crowd. He and Blakestone had a good match, both men are excellent workers. Plenty of big backdrops and suplexes, with Il Cognito scoring the pinfall.
Winner: Il Cognito
Tag Team Championship Match::
The “Gosford Giddyups” had their first title defense against Steve Ravenous and JT Robinson. More infighting between the Platinum Players and the Giddyups successfully retained their titles.
Winner: Gosford Giddyups
Return from the Rising Sun Face Off:
Both Kid Dynamite and Jay Law have just returned from their trip to Japan. Both men appear to have improved and the match was very even. The match got out of hand with chairs, weapons and even a guard rail being thrown into the ring. The match was called a double count out, but both men wanted the match restarted. The other Players came to the ring and the match was called a draw.
Winner: Draw
Rockafella vs Bushranger Kelly:
Bushranger Kelly was impressive, and not just with his stockwhip. He scored the win over Rockafella.
Winner: Bushranger Kelly
AWF Commonwealth Championship Match:
This was the match of the night. Nosawa Rongai pulled off some impressive moves, some so quick I didn’t even see what he actually did. The other members of Freakshow and Detonation Crew came to the ring, with TNT clocking Nosawa Rongai with the title belt which allowed Theo to score the pin.
Winner: Powerhouse Theo
