Ben Coles

Mick Moretti made his AWF debut 21st March at Fighting Spirit as a surprise opponent for Zander Bathory. He has since continued to impress with both his physique and wrestling style.

Although he was eliminated from the Supanova Supa Tournament at Supanova Sydney June 27-28 at The Dome, Olympic Park by Steve Ravenous, this newcomer's future certainly looks bright.

At the upcoming "Rise Up" Tour events he will be facing what could possibly be his greatest challenges. He will be up against the veteran Il Cognito, fellow impressive newcomer Ben Coles and finally the New Zealand veteran Kyle Seminoff.

AWF Fansite thought we would get his thoughts leading to these challenges.

Hi Mick, thank you for this interview. How are you?
Hi Neil, its no trouble.

How did you get started in the wrestling business and AWF?
All of my friends know i have always been a wrestling enthusiast. I was recommended AWF by a friend of mine, and by my cousin who is mates with one of our roster. So I saved up my money and joined the school, since being here I haven't looked back.

Before getting into the business, were you a wrestling fan?
Yes I was a fan, a huge fan. I first got into wrestling when I was young, thanks to my neighbour and good friend. He introduced me to wrestling, and we used to wrestle on mats and the trampoline all the time, and watched it whenever we could.

Who were some of your favourite wrestlers growing up?
When we used to wrestle we always emululated the Hardy boyz, my friend was Jeff and I was Matt, so I've always been a big fan of his. I also enjoy the likes of HHH, Shawn Michaels, and Edge.

WWE or TNA?
WWE, its what I know.

Who would you say is your inspiration?
My inspiration lies within. Of course watching big time wrestling is very inspiring and thats where I want to end up so I motivate myself to work hard every day.

How would you describe your wrestling style?
My wrestling style is definately best described in one word .... Mint. Hahaha! Seriously though, Mint is a new style of wrestling that everyone is going to know, fast paced, high flying, technical, and as I train more I can add some power to the equation, and in time my technical skills will improve.

What is your finishing move?
My finishing move is yet to be seen, but lets just say that it too is mint.

Can't wait to see that. If you were to form a tag team in AWF, who would you choose as your partner?
I've always liked Frankie Fettuccini, being a fellow Italian and all, we could be Moretti Spaghetti and Frankie Fettuccini! But Frankie's a bit of an egomaniac, I'm not sure I could get along with him too well, so until he changes his attitude I'll have to choose someone who could keep up with my image, I'd have to be in a mint team. So I'd have to say the likes of Benny Coles, Max Comic, Billy Flyswat, Powerhouse Theo, Scotty Club and Adam Hoffman are the top candidates just to name a few, but for a prime partner I'd just need my spearmint extra to chew on and keep me focused.

You recently took part in the Super Tournament at Supanova pop culture expo in Sydney. How did you find the whole weekend?
The supernova weekend was good, a very individual environment. I was upset with my showing against Ravenous, but his experience proved too good, so good on him, but he should know I won't go down without a fight, and next time we meet it'll be a finish worth a mint, if ya get what I'm sayin'.

In the upcoming "Rise Up" tour events, you will be facing some of the toughest opponents to date. Friday at Mt Druitt PCYC you wil be going up against AWF's own evil clown Il Cognito, Saturday at the AWF Dojo against fellow newcomer Ben Coles and on Sunday you go up against the veteran Kyle Semenoff. How will you prepare for this weekend of huge matches?
Yes these matches should be interesting for me. Il Cognito being the veteran he is will not be an easy foe. Benny Coles is on fire at the moment, but these mint leaves are fresh so wont burn so easily, I plan to show he's not the only rookie who can get it done in the ring. And Kyle Semenoff, well last time we were at the Frat Club I had the misfortune of teaming with him, he blamed he for the loss and attacked me afterwards, a cheap move. But there's and old saying I love, an eye for an eye and I plan on dealing Semeoff some mint justice. So naturally I'll be training hard to prepare for this huge weekend, and hopefully the odds are stacked in my flavour: Mint, and hopefully I can "Rise Up" and leave a lasting mark on the AWF.

Thank you for your time, and best of luck in the "Rise Up" Tour.
Thanks Neil.
