PSYCHOTICSLAM

Saturday April 18, UNSW Roundhouse, Kensington NSW

USA Vs Australia:
Powerhouse Theo started the night with a victory over USA's "Independent Star" Ericho. I had never heard of Ericho before, but I have to say he was very entertaining. Theo scored the victory with a massive powerbomb.
Winner: Powerhouse Theo

Factions 6 Man:
Next was the six man faction match. I don't know where they are heading with the Platinum Players. Every time we see them they are always bickering. Are the Players destined for splitsville? Anyway, the bickering ultimately cost them the match. The bigger question was, what was Jay Law wearing?
Winners: Australian Made

Womens Match:
Alison Wonderland came to the ring and started to brag that the Freakshow was the dominant force in the AWF. She then started to say that she had beaten "Bombshell" Bo so many times that she drover her from the country. Bo's music started and she ran to the ring. Yes, Bo is back! An impromptu match followed. Bo has really improved and finally got revenge over Wonderland.
Winner: “Bombshell Bo”

Big Man Battle:
Mana "The Polynesian Warrior" was apparently injured, so in his place was "The Maniac" Wayne Mattei. He is one big boy. Blakestone is a big man, but he looked tiny against the Maniac. No real high flying but plenty of power moves with Blakestone scoring the win.
Winner: Blakestone

American Stars Showdown:
Chris Masters and Al Snow really entertained. Al Snow was in his usual form, and the most popular "person" in the ring would have to have been "Head". The build up to the match was awesome, with Al constantly chastising "Head" for not staying in it's corner. The match was great, with Masters putting the Masterlock on Snow. Referee Kebab was knocked out during the match and Woody ran out to the ring. Snow eventually won the match and then Masters put the Masterlock on both referees. Very entertaining.
Winner: Al Snow

AWF Commonwealth Championship:
Kid Dynamite then challenged Rover Ventura for his AWF Commonwealth Championship. They were putting on a good match until the other Players appeared. I'm a little unclear what their intentions were, but JT pushed Dyno off the top turnbuckle making him crash to the canvas. Ventura successfully retained his title and Dyno went off at the other Players and chased them to the back. The Players plot thickens.
Winner: Roger Ventura

AWF Tag Team Championships:
Massive Q and Toxin then came to the ring to defend their tag titles. Billy Flyswat entered the ring, but where was "Fully Loaded" Luke Forward? Flyswat took the mic and explained that "Fully Loaded" was injured and he wasn't fighting alone. He introduced his new partner as Max Comic. The "Gosford Giddyups" took it to the champs, with several double teaming on Q. The "Giddyups" won the match and new tag team champions were crowned. I have been more and more impressed with Max Comic, and it is good to finally see him with some gold.
Winners: Gosford Giddyups (New Tag Team Champions)

AWF 20 Man Rumble:
The AWF rumble was incredibly good fun. It was done in Royal Rumble style with two men starting, and one man arriving to the ring every minute. More evidence of unrest in the Players camp with Dyno being eliminated. JT eliminated Ravenous, then Ravenous offered to shake hands and pulled JT out of the ring. Ericho shouted that he was going to win the whole thing, only to be eliminated by The Maniac. When he left, he said he couldn't believe the size of the monster. The rumble eventually came down to The Maniac and Blakestone, who continued their match from earlier in the night. The Maniac eliminated Blakestone to be the final winner.
Winner: "The Maniac" Wayne Mattei

AWF Australasian Championship Steel Cage Match:
Then we have the moment we all came to see - the main event. Before the match started the crowd started chanting "we want blood" and it didn't take long for that to happen with Il Cognito being busted open shartly into the match. It was a brutal match, as you would expect. Both men made many attempts to escape the cage. TNT went for the door only to have Alison Wonderland slam it shut on his head and he was also busted open. Both men had blood all over their faces and the match kept going. The Freakshow came to the ring and all entered the cage. They then began an assault on TNT when the Detonation Crew came to the ring. They also entered the cage and an all out brawl broke out. "Bombshell" came to the ring and battled with Wonderland. TNT managed to escape the cage and won the title.
Winner: TNT (New AWF Australasian Champion)
